Patsy Ruth Duke, 85, died peacefully in Woodstock, Ga., on Nov. 23. She was born in Birmingham, Ala., on July 5, 1931, the youngest of eight children. She was the daughter of the late Charles and Luttie Stanfield.

Patsy was predeceased by her husband Joe Duke, brothers Freeman and William T. Stanfield, and sisters Rebecca Owen and Margaret Richardson. She is survived by brother John (Jan) Stanfield of Peachtree City, Ga., sister Bettie (Robert) Ristow of Rome, Ga., sister Bee Higgins of Marietta, Ga., and many nieces and nephews.

Patsy was a graduate of Russell High School in East Point, Ga., and had a long career at Southern Bell as an office worker. After she retired, Patsy enjoyed singing at nursing homes and other facilities with Sweet Adelines and The Entertainers. She loved to laugh, had a sunny personality and made friends with her caregivers at the Benton House of Woodstock senior living community.

The family wishes to thank her caregivers at Benton House for their care and concern. Friends and family may call between 10 a.m. and 12 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 30, at H.M. Patterson & Son-Canton Hill in Marietta. The funeral service will be held immediately following the visitation at 12 p.m.
